SICAS
Job Attendance Control System
SICAS is an integrated system that provides employers with
pertinent and exact employee time and attendance information, for
payroll and personnel management purposes. The complete system is
administered by personnel employees.
SICAS provide a wide range of information for employers, including:
* daily, weekly and monthly attendance, overtime and absenteeism
report,
* monthly reports that include all information required to generate
the payroll, and
* time and attendance statistics per employee and cost center.
SICAS consists of one or more remote, intelligent data collection
and clock control terminals (UCA), communications software RUTH
and the SICAS application, which resides in a central computer.
The UCA stores employee schedules, and collects and validates time
and attendance data, operating off-line to minimize central
computer overhead. It includes a small video terminal that displays
employee identification and permits communications of general or
individual messages. Each UCA can manage up to four magnetic
identification card readers TIP.
UCA performance features include in and out access control multiple
entrance/exit capability per employee, storage of up to 2000
punches per unit, and interface with other types of control
peripheral, such as turnstiles, fire detectors, etc.
The RUTH (Remote UCA To Host) software handles communications
between the central computer and UCA terminals, for loading
employee information, schedules and messages, and to provide for
terminals polling.
The SICAS application loads and polls the UCA terminals, processes
information received, generates the reports, and maintains active
and historical data files for use in other applications.
SICAS improves productivity and profitability by providing exact,
integrated, time accounting of attendance, overtime, absenteeism,
vacations, medical absence, and other user-definable criteria, such
as commissions for services, training, transfer, etc.
The SICAS software runs on the VAX line of Digital Equipment
Corporation under VMS and on IBM PC compatible microcomputers,
under MS-DOS.
